Help me decide? I want to make something special for my sister – I’m perfectly safe putting this on here because she doesn’t visit the internet much and doesn’t read my blog ;D – and I thought a shawl would be comforting and pretty. But I am terribly indecisive! I have narrowed the choices down to 5 but just can’t choose between them. So what do you think? Here are the choices:
Chanson en Crochet This one is very pretty. Might be a bit complicated but nothing I can’t handle. Apparently has a big errata. I’ve seen it in anything from Merino Silk to Simply Soft.
Plume This one is in French but has an English diagram so I think I can manage. It is very pretty and very lightweight. Only seen in Phildar Aurore and Kid Mohair so far.
Champagne Wrap This one is very lovely. I’ve had my eye on it for quite awhile. It definitely doesn’t look very warm. On the plus side, it would probably work up really quickly. Seen only in Elann Champagne right now.
Shill Shell Shawl This one is a bit more basic but still very lovely. Recommended yarn is Patons Grace which shouldn’t be too hard to get ahold of.
Dagmar Last, but not least, is Dagmar. This one is done in hairpin lace. So pretty! Pattern calls for a discontinued yarn but it shouldn’t be hard to find an appropriate substitute.
I am guessing whatever I make will maybe be used if she wants to curl up and read a book and maybe out to dinner once in awhile or when she goes to church.
Okay, shoot me your thoughts! Which one do you like best? What color do you think I should make it in? Yarn suggestions are welcome too ;D
Thanks and have a great day!
