he’ll pick up crafty stuff for you 🙂
A few weeks ago, I was walking past the yarn section of our local Walmart and noticed a clerk trying to help an older gentleman locate a specific dye lot of yarn for his wife. She had run out, it seems, and sent him to pick up more for her. And I thought, what a sweet, dear man here in the yarn department, looking for this yarn for his honey, not even seeming very sure what a dye lot is. Loved it!
According to a clerk at our local Sally Beauty Supply, I am married to a man just as dear and sweet. It’s true. He’s a rare gem, indeed. He’s picked up crafty stuff for me many times. In fact, he’s off shopping for groceries right now, and I asked him to see if he can find a crochet hook bigger than 11.5 mm. What a guy, right?
So, what was he doing at Sally’s? Picking up heads for me, haha.
Hats just photograph better when they are on a head. I always wondered where to get these. Special thanks to my fabulous friend, Bethany, for telling me that you could find them at most beauty supply stores. If you look closely, the one with the gray hat and scarf is not as smooth as the one in the pink set. I sanded the one on the right and then gave it a coat of modge podge. I think it gave it a nice, polished look. When I have a minute or two, I’ll do the styrofoam head on the left too.
It’s been a super busy week, and, while that often makes time seem to fly by, strangely, this week seemed to last an eternity. I think it’s just that there was so much packed into it.
Saturday was a trip up to my sister’s house to help tie 2 baby quilts. Much fun and they turned out really cute.
Sunday – who knew gingerbread houses were SO much WORK! By the end of the day, I hurt all over and had seriously considered pitching the project more than once, lol. Don’t tell my 10 year old.
Monday, we had a Winterland of Gingerbread event to attend. Hence all the gingerbread making on Sunday. (I’ll share a few pics this weekend). Also, hubby had a doctor appointment that I needed to pick him up from (he was sedated and told not to drive) so I had my dad take my littlest kids and drive my van to his house, while I kept the older boys – one napped (looking pretty uncomfortable too) and I tortured the other with classwork. When hubby’s appointment was finished, we drove up to my dad’s house, picked up the little kiddos and left Troy’s car at my parents’ house overnight.
Tuesday, we all loaded into the van and took hubby to work, then oldest kiddo to school in Ogden, picked up 10 year old’s forgotten coat from the Ice Sheet, a quick stop to the post office, dropped my 7 year old to school in Roy, went home and helped 10 year old with his class work, went and picked up hubby from work, and finally back to my parents’ house to pick up hubby’s car.
Wednesday and Thursday, just the normal busy. Cleaning, school work, dropping and picking up kids, etc.
Today, my sis stopped by to bring my purse back to me. I left it at her house on Saturday >_< She had an appointment with her doctor today, so she brought my purse along with her.
Plans for tomorrow? Can a girl hope to sleep in? 😉
Have a great night!
